Shopify Flow has introduced powerful new actions to streamline working with metaobjects in workflows. These enhancements build on the recent addition of the Metaobject Entry Created trigger, giving merchants even greater control over how they store and retrieve data.
Now, Flow offers two key actions: Get Metaobject Entries and Get Metaobject Entry. These make it easier to access metaobjects and use them dynamically within automated workflows.
What Do These Actions Do?
- Get Metaobject Entries: This action retrieves a list of entries for a specific metaobject in your store. You can query by common fields such as display name or updated date, as well as by specific values.
- Get Metaobject Entry: This action retrieves a single metaobject entry using its handle, making it easy to pull precise data when needed.
How Can These Actions Be Used?
With these new capabilities, merchants can efficiently manage and reference stored data within their workflows. For example, a metaobject could be used to maintain a fraud deny list. Flow could then automatically check this list before processing orders, triggering actions such as sending internal email alerts or cancelling flagged transactions.
These updates provide even more flexibility and efficiency for automating business processes. Try them out to see how they can enhance your workflows!
